Google +1 Button

Google on its way to rival Facebook and its Like Button.

After the recent launch of Twitter’s new Follow Button, it is Google’s turn to upgrade one of its social bookmarking tools. Rolled out in March 2011, the +1 Button only allowed Google users to recommend content to their friends and contacts directly from Google search results and AdWords ads. The functionality has officially been extended to websites since yesterday.

By making its +1 Button available for web pages and blogs, the search engine giant gives entrepreneurs and marketers the opportunity to take further advantage of social search and gain some great exposure in the process.
